XVY Series WiMAX VoIP Gateway is a combined mobile
WiMAX modem, router, analog telephony adapter (ATA),
and four-port Ethernet switch. It is the ideal solution
for providing a home or small/medium business with
a high-speed, secure WiMAX connection for both familiar
Internet services and low-cost VoIP
Internet telephony.
WiMAX connectivity is provided by a user-swappable
PC Card (PCMCIA) modem operating in the 2.3-GHz,
2.5-GHz, or 3.5-GHz band. Mobile WiMAX Wave 2
conformance ensures unsurpassed security and throughput,
with a 1T2R MIMO configuration and QoS support
for bandwidth-hungry VoIP and multimedia applications.
The built-in ATA includes two Foreign Exchange
Station (FXS) ports, each with a traditional modular
(RJ-11) telephone jack. A subscriber to a VoIP
service can simply plug in an ordinary telephone
(or two!) and enjoy all the benefits of Internet
telephony.
The four auto-sensing 10/100-Mbps MDI/MDI-X Ethernet
ports make it easy to build a home or office network
allowing file, printer, and Internet connection
sharing.
The router protects the network through NAT and
an SPI firewall to prevent DoS and other attacks.
Inappropriate Web sites can be blocked, and local
users' access to the Internet can be selectively
filtered and scheduled. Attempted security violations
can be logged, with multiple options for automatic
notification. Other routing-related features include
IGMP support, VPN pass-through, user-configured
and UPnP NAT traversal, and much, much more.
